We’re gradually getting people joining Cycle India 2010, and one of the latest to join is Julie Constance.
Here’s a little bit about her and why she signed up for our charity bike ride:
I am 49 years old, married with two children, Oliver 16 years and Ruby 11 years old. I live in a farmhouse in a beautiful part of North Yorkshire. I am a nurse, have worked in A & E but am working now as a school nurse. I have a polytunnel and grow my own organic vegetables.
I am not a cyclist but I wanted a challenge for my fiftieth anniversary! I came across cycle india while looking on the internet and felt it was right for me. I love India and have travelled there many times, so I look forward to being there in a different way and also being able to give something back to the country and people that have given me so much pleasure.
I am nervous about the distance but have started training and going to a gym while the weather is bad. I live in the hilliest place you can imagine, so cycling around my house is a real challenge. I would welcome any advice on training from any of you experienced cyclists!
Raising the money will be a challenge as well. I plan to do some events in the summer and involve the local school and also the place where I work, I am hoping my friends will all support me as its a great cause!
